Dear Beloved,
In the heart of Purpose Ministries, we embrace the profound message of salvation, a transformative journey that leads us to a divine union with our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we embark on this sacred journey together, let us explore the essence of salvation as illuminated by the teachings of Jesus and the eternal wisdom of the Holy Scriptures. Salvation, as Jesus teaches, is not merely an escape from the consequences of sin, but a restoration of our relationship with God—a reconciliation of our souls with the divine.
In John 3:16, we are reminded of the depth of God's love: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Salvation is the manifestation of this divine love, offering us eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
To be born again, as Jesus instructed Nicodemus in John 3:3, is to experience a spiritual rebirth—a transformation initiated by the Holy Spirit. Jesus declares, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." This rebirth is not of the flesh, but of the Spirit (John 3:6), a supernatural awakening that occurs when we surrender our hearts to Christ and invite the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.
The Holy Spirit bears witness to our spirits, affirming our adoption as children of God (Romans 8:16). Through His guidance and illumination, we are empowered to live a life that is pleasing to God, marked by righteousness, holiness, and love. As we yield to the promptings of the Spirit, our lives are transformed, and we are conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).
Salvation is a gift freely offered to all who believe (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not earned through good works or religious rituals but received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
WHEN WE CONFESS WITH OUR MOUTHS THE LORD JESUS AND BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS THAT GOD HAS RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, WE SHALL BE SAVED (ROMANS 10:9). THIS CONFESSION SIGNIFIES A GENUINE SURRENDER OF OUR LIVES TO CHRIST, ACKNOWLEDGING HIM AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. IN EMBRACING THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION, WE ARE CALLED TO REPENTANCE—TO TURN AWAY FROM SIN AND TURN TOWARDS GOD. ACTS 3:19 DECLARES, "REPENT THEREFORE AND BE CONVERTED, THAT YOUR SINS MAY BE BLOTTED OUT, SO THAT TIMES OF REFRESHING MAY COME FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD."
